The operating naval base is located in the western side of the island of Palawan, in the City of Puerto Princesa. The area is specifically located in Barangay Macarascas. The site is 52 kilometers from the city center. It takes 30 minutes by boat to reach the place. Its approximate land mass area is 9.0 hectares.
The development concept is to establish a forward operating
base for the Philippine Navy in support of its mandate to protect the
country's territorial limits along its western boundary. With the Navy's
initial budget of PhP 34,000,000.00, the plan for Phase I of the development
shall consist of:
1. Site preparation and general grading
2. Construction of boat landing
3. Rehabilitation of the water supply and distribution system
4. Shore power and lighting facilities
5. Siting and construction of the base administration and security building
6. Construction of the supply depot and warehouse
7. Repair and rehabilitation of the ammunition dump building.
